We
are indebted to Michael Donaldson of Tallahassee, Florida for contributing
these pictures of Jill attending a party at the apartment of Robert Q.
Lewis, New York City-based radio and television personality. During
the mid-1950's Robert Q. hosted an afternoon musical variety show on CBS
television. Throughout the network run of the show, three popular
girl singers were featured at various times: Jaye P. Morgan,
Judy Johnson and Jill Corey. JIll joined the cast when Judy Johnson
left the program on maternity leave, and Jill's male counterpart handling
the vocals during her tenure was none other than Merv Griffin. So
far, the two gentlemen flanking Jill in the last picture remain unidentified.
... Mr. Michael Donaldson maintains the website dedicated to the life and career of Jaye P. Morgan, who first gained prominence with a series of hit records, along with appearing as a regular on the Robert Q. Lewis Show, during the 1950's. We urge visitors to check out Mr. Donaldson's very professional site dedicated to his favorite singer by simply clicking here. |
